SP characteristics

The primary aim of the study programme in Information, Media and Book Culture is to train graduates in the field of information science, with a special focus on the relationship between man, media and information, exploring mainly information behaviour and the development of book and media culture from the Middle Ages until the present day, paying special emphasis to readership.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates understand the principles of origin, processing, access to, distribution and reception of information within society. They are able to apply the acquired knowledge of information science in the fields of security and rationalization of social, information and communication processes in the governmental, public and private sectors, in memory institutions and information services as well as in research. Depending on their area of specialization, graduates can seek employment requiring communication and information competences: information specialists, administrators of specialized databases, managers in information institutions, administrators of historical book funds, digital curators, researchers in the field of book culture and others.
