SP characteristics

The standard duration of the study is 3 years in the full-time form of studies or in the combined form of studies. The programme is focused academically. After successful completion of the studies, the Bachelor (Bc.) degree is awarded.
In the Czech Republic, addictology can only be studied at First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University at present. It is, however, profiled as an interdisciplinary programme focused on the holistic approach to the patient (under the bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model) who has any problems concerning addiction. Addictology is traditionally classified as one of the fields that take care of mental health. A substantial part of the field are also the techniques of primary prevention and application of addictology in public health.
