SP characteristics

Adapted Physical Education and Sport Master Study Programme deales with the area of adapted physical activity – the activity performed on professional, recreational and health reason levels, for individuals with different forms of disability. The Programme is based on wide spectrum of scientific branches focused not only on a pedagogy – psychological area (with a special pedagogy and ethics specialization in the area of adapted physical activities), but also on the subdisciplines of Kinanthrpology (for example evaluation of a movement system and anthropomotorics), on the top of it those branches which enable students to gain their knowledge in the area of people with specific needs (pathobiomechanics, adapted movement programmes for people with specific needs, sport training for people with specific needs etc..). On the contrary to the Bachelor Study Pogramme, Master one includes the subjects focused on management of sport events for people with specific needs, the health aspects of sport of people with specific needs and prevention from lifestyle diseases. The subjects focused on a final thesis processing are the essencial part of the Study Programme. Professional skills are gained and developed through professional experience. The Programme provides a detailed idea about methods used while dealing with people with specific needs. It also provides students with new trends in development in the mentioned area and their application in the real life. The balanced structure of obligatory, elective and optional subjects enables students to cover the whole scale of their professional needs. It is an academic Programme.

The graduate knows the basic frame of a research work connected with the branch Adapted Physical Education and Sport. The graduate also handles the standard methods of scientific knowledge. The graduate becomes an expert, coach and methodology specialists in the area of sport of people with specific needs with the highest qualification or even a candidate for the Doctoral Programme or scientific researcher.

The graduates show:
- the ability to use deep theoretical, methodological and didactical knowledge matching with their state of learning in the area of adapted physical activities
- the knowledge of the Czech system of oraganization of physical activities for people with specific needs in comparison with the systems in other countries
- the ability to develop the possibility of physical activities for people with specific needs on a different level of performance
- understanding the possibilities, conditions and limites using their professional experience in the area of social psychology, pedagogy, biomedicine and adapted physical activities.

The graduated are able to:
- independently define and solve a theoretical or practical problem in the area of adapted physical education of people requiring specific aproach and sport of people with disability using their professional knowledge
- use some methods of research in the area of adapted physical activities in the way of enabling to get original information about human body response to a specific stress.
