The Standard duration of the studies is 3 years in the full-time form of studies. It is a study programme with the professional bias. After completing the studies successfully, the Bachelor (Bc.).
The programme includes subjects of medical and/or humanitarian nature program, and also nursing and skills in midwifery, which is focused on independent work as well as team work in the sphere of prevention, health protection and health care for women. The professional focus of the study programme is the field of gynaecology throughout a female’s life span and midwifery. Midwifery is based, above all, on such fields of science as nursing, obstetrics, gynaecology and neonatology. The bias of the programme is towards obtaining professional qualification to provide direct care, oriented towards individual needs of women, neonates, families and communities, evidence-based both in health and disease.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the Bachelor degree programme of Midwifery obtain the professional qualifications necessary to perform as a midwife, pursuant to Section 6 of the Act No. 96/2004 Coll. and as such have the right to practise the regulated health care profession of midwife. The profession entails providing health care in the following vocational skills of midwifery; the necessary observation, care, and advice during pregnancy, labour, and the puerperal period, if these follow a physiological course; the leading and managing of spontaneous vaginal deliveries as well as neonate care; the said health care also includes the tending of women in the field of gynaecology.
