Study programmes

The physical geography and geoecology study programme educates students in subjects that address current and attractive themes not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad (e.g. climate change and its impacts, various types of natural hazards and impacts on society, land use change). Students from various Bachelor’s degree programmes are able to enrol in Master’s degree programmes, and not only from the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. A Master’s degree programme prepares students both in terms of their theoretical background and the practical skills necessary for their application in society. Part of their studies is performed directly in the field during field excursions, exercises or during the elaboration of their theses, and often as a member of a team. The quality of studies will enable students to enrol in doctoral study programmes and subsequently work abroad. Part of the studies can be performed abroad in the framework of the ERASMUS exchange programme, which already includes 29 European universities and is constantly expanding.
