The study program is designed as a three-year program. In the first year, theoretical subjects including the nursing ones are in focus. The second and third years are focused on clinical nursing subjects (Nursing Care for Internal Specializations, Nursing Care for Surgical Specializations, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Paediatrics, etc.), Community Care and Home Care. Integral parts of the study are humanities subjects (Personality Psychology, Developmental and Social Psychology, Psychology of Health Care, Ethics in Nursing and Introduction to Philosophy, Communication in Health Care, English Language etc.), information systems in medicine, management, medical law and legislation, and the like.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates are qualified general nurses and can provide direct nursing care for individuals, families and communities when sick and/or healthy. Graduates are able to make independent decisions in numerous areas of nursing: health care, illness prevention, providing first aid, and care for the ill as well as for handicapped and terminally ill patients. They are able to give sufficient grounds for their decisions, defend them and bear responsibility for them. Based on their knowledge, skills and social maturity they are able to contribute to the professionalization of nursing, increasing its prestige and position within society. They are able to carry out research activities in the field of nursing and use the results of their scientific research in practice.
