SP characteristics

The Psychology study program is a continuation of the bachelor study of Psychology with the extension of special pedagogy. It provides deepened and specialized knowledge and skills in basic psychological disciplines in the following areas: psychological research, methodology and psychological diagnostics, counselling and school psychology, clinical psychology, psychopathology, psychotherapy. Great emphasis is also put on research training and internships in professional practice facilities. Graduates find employment in various areas of applied psychology: at workplaces of psychological practice in education, health care, social and non-profit organizations. This is enabled by the concept of study, based on the development of professional knowledge, skills and competences, in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Education for the regulated profession of school (counselling) psychologist, but also the EuroPsy standards allowing employment in EU countries respecting this standard. An integral part of the program is a scientific preparation which should allow for future PhD studies of the program graduates.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of Psychology in the subsequent master's studies deepen and further specialize their knowledge and skills acquired in the bachelor's studies of psychology. It involves training in psychological disciplines in the following areas: psychological research; methodology and psychological diagnostics; counselling psychology; school and educational psychology; clinical psychology and psychopathology. Graduates of the program have skills to work in psychological research and experience in professional internships, which they will benefit from in their future practice. Their knowledge and skills are in accordance with the requirements of Ministry of Education for graduates of regulated professions (school and counselling psychologist), their knowledge and skills correspond to the requirements of the European Certificate in Psychology. Graduates will find employment in various areas of psychological practice in education, health care, social and non-profit organizations, research, etc. They are prepared for doctoral studies in psychology.
