Graduate profile for the public:
Teacher Training for Nursery Schools is a university level bachelor degree programme for nursery school teachers. The concept of the programme is based on a personality-oriented model of learning and follows the developmental features of pre-school education as well as promoting child-centered pedagogy.
Studies are a balanced mix of professional, theoretical and practical subjects as well as teaching practice. The curriculum contains subjects of pedagogical, psychological, special educational needs and other professional disciplines which combine to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the work of a teacher in a nursery school. Compulsory courses are complemented by required elective and recommended elective courses which allow students to organize the curriculum according to their needs and to deepen their professional interests. The integrated concept of the programme prepares future nursery teachers for a comprehensive approach to the education and care of pre-school children and aims to fully develop students‘ personal attributes as well as professional competences.
