The focus of the bachelor's degree programme in Hispanic Studies is the study of modern philology, i.e. Spanish language, linguistic disciplines, Spanish-written literature and the life and institutions of Spanish-speaking countries. The standard length of study is three years. The study is completed with the final state examination, which includes the defence of the bachelor thesis.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates have a sound knowledge of the foundations of Spanish linguistics, history of Spanish and Hispano-American literature, culture and history of Spanish-speaking countries. They have oral and written skills in Spanish at C1 level. Graduates are prepared for study in master’s degree programmes. They can seek careers in a broad range of domains including publishing and editing, translation, language counselling in the media, PR in business firms, NGOs, tourism, foreign affairs and European Union bodies.
