SP characteristics

Students of both programs will learn to process information, assess its importance, analyze it and put it in the relevant security-political context. The ability to process detailed information in the security field will allow understanding the broader socio-political context. The specific emphasis is put on grasping security issues in the context of present and future technological developments. Students of the program will be able to use the existing contacts of the Department of Security Studies of the IPS FSV UK with the executive sphere and specialized security agencies of the state. Further, the students will take advatage of a long-term system of visiting professors from prestigious foreign institutions.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the International Security Studies program will receive comprehensive training in security, conflict and strategic studies. They will learn to analyze security problems with emphasis on their political and social context. Last but not least, they will gain an extensive perspective of security problems and solutions related to current and future technological developments. Given the currently increasing relevance of security issues, these capabilities predispose them for work in both the public and private sectors.
