SP characteristics

The aim of the program is to equip the students with the core concepts, reasoning, quantitative skills and institutional knowledge in Economics and Finance. The program (i) builds strong mathematical and statistical foundations, (ii) develops analytical tools and (iii) offers institutional knowledge required to work as an economist in industry, government, or academia.

The core of the program are mandatory courses in Mathematics, Statistics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics. Other mandatory courses include Financial Economics, Law, and Economics of the EU.

Students specialize by selecting from a wide menu of electives, including classes in financial markets, international trade and finance, public finance, labor economics, economic policy, data analysis, and corporate finance.

The level of instruction and course requirements facilitate easy transfers of the graduates into top Masters programs in Economics and Finance in Europe.

Graduate profile for the public:
Bachelors graduates are qualified to undertake quantitative modeling and analysis in Economics and Finance at least at the intermediate level. The graduates are equipped with essential quantitative skills and general understanding of the economy, as well as detailed knowledge about specific fields of the economy such as financial markets, banking, international trade and finance, corporate finance and law, public finance, and economic policy-making. The program is designed to be equivalent to undergraduate programs in Economics and Finance in top universities in Europe, with a strong focus on coverage of Mathematics, Statistics, and Econometrics.

The program provides extensive training in the economic and financial theory and in quantitative skills. Depending on the graduate's interests, the program offers to focus on subfields such as macroeconomics, finance, international economics, economic policy, public finance, labor economics, data analysis, or corporate strategy and finance. The program includes also a course in ethics and economics. The program prepares the participants to independently solve both analytical and quantitative problems. Students are also trained to collaborate in diverse teams and to improve their soft skills such as effective writing and presenting in English. Graduates typically proceed to high-level programs in Economics and Finance in the country or abroad.
