The Master's study programme Media Studies provides students with knowledge of the development and present state of Czech and world media in the context of the main historical, cultural and political and economic contexts. Media studies embrace the media as a solid part of Czech society with strong ties to European and global development. They are also connected with sociology, political science, economics and history in its professional context. The graduate of the study program knows the frameworks of professional work associated with the study of mass and network media, is able to use standard methods of scientific knowledge of media content, media audiences and media organizations and methods of interpretation of media messages and the role of media and media communication in society.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates acquire the research skills relevant for the study of mass and network media and are able to use standard research methods of media kontent, media audiences and media organizations analyses. They find professional employment on higher management levels of media and communication companies, as well as media analysts, media consultants, designem of communication strategies, and employees of the press and communications departments. The graduates have a systematic insight in the issue of theory and practice of media. Master´s program develops the students´ ability for theoretical and analytical thinking concerning media and media communication. It provils a detailed understanding of methods of analysis and research, or media routines of individual phases of media communication.
