SP characteristics
The study programme History of Christian Art is focused on presenting all kinds of traditional history of fine arts (architecture, painting, sculpture) as well as its enlarged code (drawing, graphic arts, photography, new media, handicraft, design). History of Christian Art takes in consideration their role in large social context including historical, religious, theological, literary function and connections. Attention is therefore given to interdisciplinary link between history of art and other associated fields.
Study of History of Christian Art includes fields which are important for understanding the spiritual sources from which Christian art has arisen. Athough the main emphasise is set on sacral art, the efforts are directed to keep an open approach and see sacral art always in deeper context of Europian historical development and its social role.
