SP characteristics

The aim of the study program is to educate professionals in a wide range of environmental disciplines. The Environmental Protection is a three-year bachelor's study program, during which the student acquires both general knowledge of natural science and a wide awareness of functioning principles in all environment components. Studied and taught topics, in addition to the basics of natural science, include the atmosphere and climate, pollution and protection waters and soils, ecology and biodiversity care, waste management and treatment, environmental health aspects, and environmental law. Students are acquainted with basic laboratory and field methods of environmental research, and they gain theoretical and practical training in environmental disciplines.

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate is acquainted with the basics of natural sciences (biology, chemistry, geology, physics, mathematics) and with selected environmental disciplines that can be applicated to the study and management of the environment. Combination of basic natural knowledge and environmental protection principles enables to educate specialists in all environment components. Graduates can continue in the following Master's degree or find work in practice. A typical application is in specialized companies using technology that can influence the environment, in companies managing and protecting natural resources, including reclamation, remediation and disposal of environmental burdens. Further, graduates can work in laboratories and other institutions specialized in environmental analysis, in government sectors, as well as in the non-governmental sectors, which deals with the management, use and restoration of the natural environment and natural resources.
