SP characteristics
The study program provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of microbiology. The students learn to use microbiological, molecular biology, bioinformatic, biochemical and biophysical methods for the study of microorganisms. The main areas of research include the physiology of microbial cell studied at the molecular level, interaction between microbe and host in pathogenesis of infection diseses and biodegradation abilities of microbial communities in nature. The graduate can be employed in both basic and applied research with focus on biology and biomedicine as well as in the industrial sector.
