SP characteristics

The Environmental Sciences represents a multidisciplinary study program involving biological, chemical physical mathematical as well as sociological disciplines. The program covers all the compartments of the environment that are analyzed, investigated from the point of view of its structure, processes involved with respect to anthropogenic aspects and the study program also focuses on reclamation solutions. For these purposes, a wide array of various analytical approaches from different field of natural sciences are employed. The doctoral program prepares students for highly expertized and independent scientific work in the individual aspects of the environment that, on the other hand, represents often team cooperation for solving of the environmental problems. The absolvents are ready to be involved in international cooperation at Czech as well as foreign scientific institutions and universities. The absolvents are also prepared for applied research activities and the industrial sphere involving for example water treatment processes, waste management, and new methods for removal of organic pollutants from the environment.

The absolvent has gained deep theoretical and practical abilities to solve environmental problems related to various aspects and fields of the environment. The absolvent is capable to find appropriate environmental and analytical approaches for relevant problems, to optimize research methods, to process and to interpret the obtained results, and based on the results he/she is able suggest and describe the respective remedy solutions.
