SP characteristics

The BA programme in Italian Studies is conceived as a modern philologically oriented programme whose aim is to develop skills in the Italian language from the input level of A2 to C1 level upon graduation. The active language competence is built along with a theoretical insight into the functional aspects of a foreign language. A key part of the programme is also a solid grounding in the history of Italian literature and the history and culture of Italy and its contemporary life and institutions. Graduates are qualified for careers in a wide range of areas such as tourism, business, international trade, cultural institutions and media.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates have a practical command of the Italian language at C1 level and advanced conversation skills with an adequate range of vocabulary. They have a theoretical grounding in a foreign language and basic literary concepts. They have a solid grounding in the history of Italian literature and are capable of analysing literary texts from a wider perspective. Moreover, graduates are well acquainted with the key moments in Italian history as well as the contemporary life and institutions of Italy.
