SP characteristics

History and Area Studies is an academically based programme taught in English. The programme connects study of the Czech and Central European history and culture with the study of the Czech language at the B2 level. English courses provide students with an expertize and basic norms and skills of the academic work and with the basic knowledge of the Czech language. Czech language is actively employed mainly in seminars reflecting upon the lecture topics. Acquired language and topical knowledge can be used in the next MA study as well as in the praxis in the state administration, NGOs or media.

History and Area Studies graduate is endowed by a solid knowledge of contemporary Czech and Central European history and culture and as well as of the Czech language at a B2 level. History and Area Studies graduate is able tu employ the language as well as the acquired knowledge in everyday use and develop and cultivate them in the continuing study in the field of humanities and social sciences or in the professional field of the state administration, cultural institutions,NGOs or media.
