      Graduates are equipped with a knowledge of Christian theology in its historical, systematic, and practical dimensions. They are capable of working with biblical texts in the original languages and are proficient in the hermeneutics of Christian texts, with a particular emphasis on the tradition of the Reformation, and in dialogue with other Christian traditions, with philosophy, and with the social sciences. They are familiar with the phenomenology of religion, with the traditional world religions and with new religious movements.

      The entrance examination takes place in one round and has a written and an oral part. The written part tests applicants' knowledge of biblical theology (including the original languages), systematic theology, historical theology, world religions and philosophy.
      The oral part is an interview to establish applicants' specific qualifications for the study programme.
      Assessment criteria: the two parts of the entrance examination are assessed by points giving a maximum total of 100 (50 for the written test and 50 for the oral interview). The examiners marking the written part will not know the identity of the applicants.

      The applicants who are most successful in the entrance examination will be accepted. The Dean will determine the number of points necessary to be accepted.

      Applicants can prepare in advance an exegesis of at least 4 sections of text from the Old Testament (at least 20 verses in each section), and 4 sections from the New Testament, each at least 10 verses long (for details see the requirements for the Bachelor's examination of the relevant departments).

      Graduates can make use of their studies in the service of their churches as ministers in parishes, in catechetical, educational and pastoral work, and also in the social and cultural fields and in public administration.
