Represents first students´ contact with clinical medicine (medical history, somatic examination, basic examination and treatment procedure, important legislative aspects of clinical medicine), in both theoretical and practical way.

Topics of the lectures:

Basic principles of clinical work. Clinical documentation. Important legislative background of clinical work.

The first contact with the patient. Medical history, its structure and components. Personal history.as.

Global assessment of the patient and physical examination (consciousness, position, mobility etc.).

Examination of the head, neck and the lymphatic system. The most important signs and symptoms.

The current illness. The state of health.

Abdominal examination. The most important signs, symptoms and findings.

Physical examination in children.

Examination of the thorax - the cardiologist's view. The most important signs, symptoms and findings.

Examination of the nutritional state. Dietary system and hospital regimen. Principles of the structured (differentiated) health care.

Examination of the thorax - the pneumologist's view. Important signs and symptoms of the lung disorders, pleura and mediastinum.

Signs, symptoms and examination of the locomotory system - rheumatologist's view.

Overview of medical imaging methods.

Growth and Development of the Child.

Principles of laboratory examination; indications and short overview.
