The course will provide students with an overview of basic theoretical and empirical knowledge related
organizational culture, and thus enable them to understand the broader context of formation, cultivation and
change of company culture in the light of the contemporary knowledge, experiences and trends.
In addition to lectures, teaching will be based on discussions with students and will strengthen their ability to think
critically. Emphasis will be placed on understanding model situations, their analysis and constructive proposals for
solving problems associated with various aspects of organizational culture.

The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of Organizational Culture in various types of organizations, with the focus on determinants, creation, development, and change of organizational culture, and its impact on employee satisfaction and engagement.

* Gained knowledge:
Students will expand their knowledge gained in the course of Fundamentals of Psychology of Work and Organization in the area of organizational culture in terms of its definitions, characteristics, typology, and options of its formation, development and change.

* Gained skills:
Students will be able to identify various types of organizational culture, support creation of an ethical work environment, and apply acquired knowledge in their potential managerial, personnel or consulting work.

Definition and differentiation of the terms of culture, national, multinational and global culture, organizational/company culture.
Definition and characteristics of organizational culture, its basic elements and dimensions.
Determinants of organizational culture formation. Identification of company values. The role of the external environment, internal structure, type and dynamics of the organization, general and human resources management, and employees.
Company culture in relation to the strategy and performance of the organization, and motivation of employees.
Analysis, diagnostics, and typology of organizational culture.
Organizational ethics. Codes of ethics and identification of pathological elements.
Strong vs. weak, national vs. multinational/global company culture. Role of internal communication.
Selected issues of adaptation to a different national/organizational culture.
Development and changes of organizational culture. Strategies, tools, limitations, practical implementation, and consequences of changes of organizational culture.
