Cílem kursu je zprostředkovat studentům přehled o německé literatuře v evropském kontextu v období osvícenství, hnutí Sturm und Drang a německé klasiky, ukázat jejich význam a vliv na pozdější literární vývoj. Přednáška se zaměřuje na literaturu německého osvícenství, na historické souvislosti jejího vzniku, filozofické a estetické kořeny a rozdělení do jednotlivých etap, osvícenské divadlo (Gottsched, Lessing), sentimentalismus (Klopstock), osvícenský román (Wieland, Schnabel)a literaturu hnutí Sturm und Drang. V oblasti tzv. Výmarské klasiky na literární, dramatické a estetické dílo Goetha a Schillera a na Výmar jako centrum kulturního života.
Obsahové zaměření seminářů: Diskuse o vybraných textech daného období (ukázky z filozofických, estetických a literárně teoretických textů), rozbor básnických, prozaických a dramatických děl mj. i podle Seznamu doporučené četby. Kurs bude probíhat pod střídavým vedením doc. Glosíkové a prof. Tvrdíka.

The goal of this course is to give the students an overview of German literature within the European context during the Enlightenment, the Sturm und Drang movement and German classical literature; to show the import and influence of these periods on later literary development. The lecture further focuses on the literature of the German Enlightenment, its philosophical and aesthetic roots and the division of the individual eras; Enlightenment theatre (Gottsched, Lessing), sentimentalism (Klopstock), Enlightenment novel (Wieland, Schnabel), and the literature of the Sturm und Drang movement. In the area of the so-called Weimar classic the literary and dramatical and aesthetical works of Goethe and Schiller and on Weimar as the centre of cultural life. The seminars will discuss selected texts of the given period (excerpts from philosophical, aesthetical and literary theoretical texts) and analyse the poetry, prose, and drama works according to the List of Recommended Reading Titles and according to the interests and wishes of the course participants.

Požadavky ke zkoušce
docházka, po domácí přípravě aktivní práce s texty v semináři;
rozbor se zaměřuje na tematickou, kompoziční a jazykovou komponentu díla, v epice na narativní strukturu, v dramatu na způsob výstavby textu a konfiguraci postav a zohledňuje historické pozadí a filosoficko-estetické proudy dobového myšlení, které tvoří základ literární periodizace (osvícenství, klasicismus, klasika, preromantické hnutí);
vhodná je zmínka literárně-kritického a čtenářského ohlasu, případně filmové či moderní divadelní adaptace;
před skončením kursu odevzdává každý jeho frekventant krátký písemný referát (max. tři strany) k vybranému textu. Téma lze zvolitz následujících možností:
