This is a course taught by an English national to improve students’ communication skills, with a view to their being able to read quite complicated texts, fully understand the meanings of those texts and then themselves produce short paragraphs and one longer piece of writing in perfectly structured and coherent English.

The weekly seminar/tutorial is preceded by an 80-minute session of private consultations, when each student’s work will be analysed individually on a one-to-one basis and also when the students will prepare a longer piece of work (2-4 pages) which will serve as a major component of grading for the course. (Depending on the number of students enrolled on the course, this might be conducted in small groups of 2-3 students, instead of individually.)
