Diploma Seminar II builds on the course Diploma Seminar I and is intended for students who have completed the theoretical and methodological sections of their master’s thesis and are carrying out the empirical phase of their research. The seminar focuses on data collection and analysis, interpretation of findings, and the development of the results section of the thesis. Emphasis is placed on methodological rigour, transparency of analytical procedures, and the ability to interpret results accurately in relation to the theoretical framework. The aim of the course is to guide students through the implementation of the empirical part of their master’s thesis and the development of the results chapter in a methodologically consistent and interpretatively sound manner. Students analyze the collected data, interpret it appropriately in relation to the research questions or hypotheses, and prepare materials for the discussion and conclusions of the thesis. Teaching takes place in five contact sessions, between which students conduct data collection, perform analyses, and provide written peer review to one another on an ongoing basis. 1. Introductory Seminar Definition of the timeline for the empirical phase, requirements for the results chapter, and principles of data interpretation. Discussion of the progress of data collection. 2. Seminar on Data Collection Progress and Preliminary Analyses Students share information in advance regarding the implementation of their research and their initial analytical outputs. The seminar focuses on discussing methodological issues and the correctness of analytical procedures. 3. Seminar on the Developing Results Chapter Written peer evaluation of the draft results chapter is conducted in advance. The seminar focuses on the logic of presenting results, the use of tables/graphs, and alignment with the research questions or hypotheses. 4. Seminar on Finalizing the Results Chapter Peer review of the final version of the results chapter. The seminar includes discussion of the interpretation of findings, their limitations, and preparation for the subsequent discussion and conclusion sections. 5. Seminar on Thesis Defense Students prepare a brief presentation summarizing the main objectives, methodology, and key findings of their thesis. A mock defense is conducted, including questions and feedback focused on argumentation, structure of the presentation, and responses to expert inquiries. Poslední úprava: Půlpán Krause Veronika, Mgr.
