Anotace

The course follows the course "Clinical Kinesiology" and its main aim is to extend the knowledge of general kinesiology by so-called developmental principles. The course is aimed at understanding the dynamics of momentum development related to the gradual maturation of the CNS. Among other things, the emphasis is placed on the fact that developmental kinesiology focused primarily on the first 12 to 18 months after birth is an important contribution to the study of movement and therapy of locomotor disorders. The course also includes an introduction to CKP and ICP (DMO) and practical exercises including patient demonstrations.

Cíl předmětu

Learning Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and general competencies so that after the completion of the course the students:

• demonstrates knowledge of the principles of momentum development related to the gradual maturation of the CNS

• demonstrates the ability to orientate in the level of postural development of the child

• demonstrates knowledge of an overview of diagnostic procedures used in childhood

• demonstrates the ability to document the child's movement behavior and present the conclusions of his observation

• demonstrates knowledge of the principles of child manipulation and sensorimotor stimulation (see course syllabus)

• demonstrates an understanding of the principles of basic motor development disorders, including coordination disorders and cerebral palsy (see course syllabus)

Lectures:

1. Fetal motor development. Maturation of CNS related to motor behaviour of the child

2. Developmental stages in childhood (from righting mechanisms to bipedal locomotion)

3. Sensomotor development and primitive reflexology

4. Postural reactivity and ontogenesis of supportive functions

5. Differentiated function of muscles through the developmental stages, grip improvement and voluntary motor system

6. Central coordination disorder and pathological syndromes of CNS disorders

7. Manipulating a child, sensomotor stimulation, aids

Practicals:

1. - 7. Child manipulation, sensorimotor stimulation, work with aids (prams, seats, etc.)
