After completing the course, students will be able to: Understand basic ecological principles and laws Define an ecosystem and describe its main components and processes. Explain key ecological factors (radiation, heat, water, nutrients, pressure) and their impact on organisms. Compare the specifics of aquatic and terrestrial environments from an ecological perspective. Analyze the dynamics of populations and communities Characterize basic population parameters (birth rate, mortality, growth, adaptation, competition, predation). Explain the principles of population cycles and interactions between species. Describe the composition and structure of communities (diversity, dominance, cover, stability, succession). Apply the concepts of island ecology to the issue of nature conservation. Evaluate changes in ecosystems and human impact Analyze changes in community structure in time and space. Explain community metabolism (production, yield) and its relationship to energy flows. Assess the impact of human activity on populations and ecosystems and discuss measures to protect them.
