Kurz je koncipovám pro studenty s mateřským jazykem jiným než čeština. Studenti by měli dosáhnout základního stupně jazyka na úrovni A1 podle Společného evropského referenčného rámce pro jazyky. Tento stupeň jim umožní zvládnutí základní komunikace v cílovém jazyce v dovednostech psaní a mluvení. Kurz se zaměřuje na osvojení základního lexika a základních gramatických struktur, na rozvoj porozumění díky práci s čtecími a poslechovými texty, stejně jako na nácvik mluvení a psaní.

This course is aimed at students who wish to develop a level of competence in contemporary Czech language sufficient for communication and comprehension of A1 level according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The appropriate skills of speaking and writing in Czech are covered. The course focuses on building vocabulary and grammatical structures. Communication skills are the immediate focus of the course, and students will work toward reading, understanding and discussing simple Czech texts as the semester progresses.

Students A1 objectives are understanding and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. They can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have. They can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

It is a Seminar, using the communicative approach, when students are involved in real communication, in the form of audio, video, mini dialogs, reading of adapted short texts, authentic recordings and communication situations, visualizations, videos, etc.
Use of generative AI tools:
The use and citation of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT or MS Copilot) in seminar papers and other coursework must comply with the decrees of the IMS Director No. 7/2023 and 9/2023. Generative AI tools may be used unless explicitly prohibited by the instructor. However, they may not be used to generate substantial sections of the text or replace the student’s own intellectual contribution. The student remains fully responsible for any content generated with assistance of AI tools. Presenting AI-generated content, whether verbatim, rephrased, or only slightly modified, as one's own work constitutes plagiarism. Every submitted paper must include a transparent statement specifying which generative AI tools were used, in which stage of the work they were employed, and how they were used, or confirming that no generative AI tools were used. If this statement is missing or incomplete, the instructor is not permitted to accept the paper for evaluation. Unless the instructor explicitly prohibits the use of generative AI tools, the decision to use or not to use them rests fully with the student. The student has the right to request that the instructor does not use AI assistance for evaluating their work.
