Anotace - angličtina
Crises and disasters are apparent across the globe and are increasing in severity and frequency due to climate change, human development patterns, and failures of governance. These events also provide potential windows of opportunity for governments to learn from disaster and past failures to improve community resilience, reduce risks, and mitigate existing vulnerabilities across their communities. However, this often does not happen after a disaster occurs. In this workshop we will discuss the reasons why learning and resilience-building often do not occur and we will interrogate pathways to conduct successful disaster policy research.
The workshop is dedicated to all students who are interested in the policy process research. It focuses on operationalization and application of community resilience, focusing event theory, and disaster policy to empirical data (interviews, document analysis, media analysis, etc.) and their participatory discussion. The workshop aims to discuss and formulate research designs.
