The World of Documentary Film is a course built for 4EU + students. Documentary film is conceived here as a specific type of communication, as a way of seeing the world, as a special segment of audiovisual production and creative industry, as well as a social and socialization element and finally as a supreme creative method. The course combines the theoretical-historical framework of various approaches of the "classics" of the documentary, theory as well as practical literary preparation of one's own documentary project. The lecturer is a long-time director, dramaturg (script-editor) and screenwriter of a documentary film. Poslední úprava: Štoll Martin, prof. MgA., Ph.D. (16.09.2024)

The course is designed as a creative screenwriting workshop for documentary film authors. The aim of the subject is to present the basic creative procedures, methods and approaches of the author of the documentary film to reality, and to place them in a theoretical-historical framework. Each class will therefore be a combination of a specific creative approach (problem) and its solution options, which will always be presented using examples of basic classical works of world (and Czech) documentary. The course will be taught remotely (MS Teams) and will be based on materials in Moodle. Poslední úprava: Štoll Martin, prof. MgA., Ph.D. (16.09.2024)
