Anotace

The aim of this course is to provide essential theoretical knowledge, practical and technological skills of television journalism with an emphasis on the new technologies. Students will acquire the basic skills of television reporter, presenter and camera operator during the seminars and excursions to the public and private news TVs. Practical part combines work in the TV studio and the field. Students will work on practical projects – the final task will be a TV newscast consisted of studio work, live entries and student’s news stories prepared during the semester.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu

To fulfill the requirements for the final assessment following is required:

• active participation in seminars (40%)
• submission of the assigned practical tasks (40%)
• final news story (20%)

Students must participate in all of the parts above and obtain at least 50 % in each part. Each semestral task will be graded proportionally. Submitting after the deadline means a 50% penalty in the assessment, and submitting late more than a week means 0%.

Metody výuky

The course consists of theoretical lectures, practical seminars, and excursions.

For practical tasks, school equipment will be available (cameras, sound equipment, editing room). Practical tasks will be mainly carried out individually in the student's free time. Please hand in the tasks via Moodle.

Optional excursions and workshops can be organized out of the scheduled time slot and will be announced in advance.

Vstupní požadavky

Conditions for signing up as an Erasmus exchange students:

• Master's student
• at least basic experience with TV journalism
• the capacity is limited due to the seminar character of the course
