The primary aim of the seminar is to provide valuable feedback to dissertation research of the participants. Topics with explicit policy consequences are preferred, but any paper in economics qualifies for the presentation. Both economic theory and applied economics is welcomed. The secondary aim is to enrich and broaden your research by sharing novel results and methods. You may expect constructive, productive and relevant feedback to your work.

Course requirements:
1. Attendance: 50%
2. This semester, each participant will have two presentations.
At least one of the presentations is about original work in progress. If you have presented the paper at another seminar, indicate it before your slot is allocated and define value added compared to the previous presentation (i.e., send a previous and new version of the paper and point to key differences).
The paper is delivered by group email at latest a week prior presentation. Presentation typically lasts no more than 30 minutes. The paper can be short, and in a very rough form. What is important is that the paper is edited such that the reader can identify and discuss the value added, and that the results are verifiable.
For the second presentation, junior participants may present a key result from recent literature that motivates their research. Senior participants ideally present their original research. Even a minor contribution is fine.
Ideally, your presentations should have some extra use, e.g., for conferences, workshops, defence etc. I expect a short and effective presentation that goes directly to the point.
3. This semester, discussants will not be assigned. However, it is expected that before each seminar, everyone will read the paper and will be ready to contribute to discussion.

Everything relevant to your dissertation research. I recommend to follow the leading general-interest economics journals (AER, JEEA, EMT, EJ) plus key fields journals (e.g., GEB, Journal of Public Economics, EJPE, Public Choice) or applied journals in your subfields.
