Kurz se zabývá běžnými tématy veřejných financí: úvodem zdůvodníme ekonomickou roli státu, definujeme veřejné statky a základní principy veřejných výdajů. Velká část kurzu je poté věnována teorii zdanění, tj. jak daně ovlivňují chování, a analýze teorie veřejných výdajů, konkrétně teorie veřejné volby. Nakonec shrneme základy politické ekonomie a probereme některé aplikace studovaných teorií.
