Anotace

This course is a comprehensive exploration of the critical intersections of law, data, and finance in the context of our rapidly evolving digital society. It is meticulously designed to provide students with a holistic understanding of the legal, financial, and data-driven aspects of our increasingly interconnected and digital world.

The course delves into the intricate legal and policy implications of data usage, the transformative role of data in digital finance, and the profound impact of technology on law and finance. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and contribute to these complex, interwoven domains.

In the first semester, students will gain a solid foundation in the key concepts and trends shaping our digital society, with a focus on the role of data and the legal frameworks that govern its use. We will also explore the burgeoning field of digital finance, including cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and fintech, and examine the legal and regulatory challenges these innovations pose.

The second semester shifts focus to policy-making in the digital age, data governance, and the role of law in shaping digital finance. Ethical considerations in data usage and digital finance will be a key theme, as will emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning. The course culminates in a final project, where students will have the opportunity to propose a policy or research initiative in digital law or finance.
