Cílem předmětu je poskytnout základní informace o léčivech s definovanou chemickou strukturou, která se používají v prevenci, diagnostice a léčbě různých nemocí. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována struktuře a z ní vyplývajícím chemickým a fyzikálněchemickým vlastnostem a významu těchto faktorů pro stabilitu, absorpci, distribuci, metabolismus a vylučování léčiv a jejich interakce s biologickými strukturami. Systematická část pojednává o vybraných skupinách léčiv (především takových, pro jejichž úspěšné terapeutické využití je nutné monitorovat jejich hladiny v organismu).

The subject is aimed at providing basic information about drugs with a defined chemical structure that are used in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. Special attention is drawn to the chemical structure and resulting chemical and physicochemical properties, and the importance of these factors for stability, absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs, and their interactions with biological targets. The systematic part deals with selected classes of drugs (especially those that require therapeutic drug monitoring for successful therapeutic application).
