Aktivní účastí na konferenci je míněna účast na recenzované konferenci s prezentací vlastního výzkumu, který jasně souvisí s problematikou disertační práce. Studující nemusí být jediným autorem prezentovaného výzkumu, může mít spoluautory. Musí ovšem prezentovat a na studii se podílet v podstatné míře.

Active participation at a conference refers to participation in a peer-reviewed conference with the presentation of th student's own research that is clearly related to the dissertation topic. The learner does not have to be the sole author of the research presented, but may have co-authors. However, they must present and contribute substantially to the study.
