The instruction uses communicational method of teaching: the material is based on situations the students face, not grammatical overview of the language, with emphasis on both receptive and productive language skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing). This however does not mean that we would neglect, ignore nor reject grammar! Grammar is used functionally, as a tool to reach communicational competencies but not the core purpose of the learning process. |

Attendance and participation is mandatory. More than 50% absence will lead to failure and the student will not be allowed to take the final exam.
The final grade will be base on attendance and class participation (incl. homework) 50% and final test 50%. |

Entry requirements: This course is intended for the exchange students of the Faculty of Humanities only. There is no entrance exam or fee, but students are required to buy a course book. Course book: ČESKY KROK ZA KROKEM 1 by Lída Holá.
