Lahti University of Applied Sciences cordially invites You to join the second international Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2018 conference in Lahti on 26th and 27th of September 2018. The conference is organized by Lahti University of Applied Sciences in co-operation with number of international, national and regional partners and operators. Esteemed keynote speakers will introduce their insight of the conference themes. The first keynote will be given by Mr. Rohinton Emmanuel, Professor, Glasgow Caledonian University.

The Conference offers an excellent meeting, networking and discussion forum and brings together thinkers, planners, developers, practitioners, academics and experts from businesses, private and public sector government to share latest ideas, discuss products, processes and to debate issues and challenges around themes relating to 'Smart Cities in Smart Regions'. Programme will include interesting and up to date keynotes, parallel and poster sessions, workshops and site visits. Other keynote speakers will be announced shortly.

The main themes of the conference are:

•                          Green Infrastructure and Well-being

•                          Design, Technology and Digitalisation

•                          Circular economy and Entrepreneurship

The call for proposals for oral presentations and posters in the mentioned topics is now open until 29th of January 2018. Alongside academic papers, also best practices and case studies are welcomed and they will be accepted according to more practical criteria. We encourage you to submit abstracts of academically or practically focused proposals, best practices and cases. Theory and practice will be equally emphasized in the programmer.

Furthermore, if you are interested in preparing, organizing and leading your own subtheme or workshop with your network, we would also appreciate receiving proposals for thematic workshops in the Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2018.
