    Information on the admission procedure:

    Deadline for filling in online application form for admission in the academic year 2024/2025 is April 30, 2024.  

    The entrance exam (face-to-face or online) will be organized in May  2024 (the exact date and place will be announced later to registered applicants).

    An alternative date for the entrance examination is June 2024.

    The written test includes a multiple-choice test in Chemistry (50 questions), Biology (30 questions), and Botany (20 questions). In addition, the English language level will be tested by an English grammar test (40 questions).

    Students will obtain points only for correct answers. They will get 1 point for each correct answer in Chemistry, Biology, and Botany. In addition, they will get 0.5 points for each correct answer in the English language test. If the applicant does not answer a particular question correctly or does not answer the question at all, the applicant will not obtain minus points, which would be deducted from the total score obtained for correct answers.

    It is the responsibility and right of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy to set the threshold level of points required for admission with respect to the number of applicants and the capacity of the faculty.

    Application form requisites:

    Students who receive their final certificate after October 1st have to obtain at least an official letter from their secondary school confirming the completion of the secondary school education, results of the final exams and that the acquired level of education entitles the students to study at a University in the given country (country where the university is accredited).

    All documents have to be translated into English or Czech by a court translator and must be validated (officially verified) accordingly to the country of their origin: https://cuni.cz/UK-10205-version1-overeni.pdf

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree obtained from an internationally recognized university in the field of Pharmacy, Biomedicine, Life Sciences, and disciplines related to Human Biology (e.g., Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology) and Chemistry (e.g., Organic chemistry, Analytical Chemistry) is required. Recognized universities are accredited as a university in their own country by the responsible national authority. Bachelor's degree must be awarded before the commencement of lectures (beginning of the academic year) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, but not necessarily at the time of application.

    Written tests include a multiple-choice test in Pharmaceutical Botany (10 questions), Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry (10 questions), Human Physiology and Pathophysiology (10 questions), Biochemistry and Pathological Biochemistry (10 questions), and Analytical Chemistry (10 questions).     Information on the admission procedure:

    The application for doctoral studies can be submitted electronically at the following address: https://is.cuni.cz/studium/eng/prijimacky/ or on SEVT form. We prefer an electronic application as a method of filing an application. The application can be submitted for both full-time and combined forms of study. Graduates of the Master's degree program may apply for Doctoral degree programs (admission is a prerequisite for the completion of the Master's degree program by September 30, 2024).

    The detailed information and annexes that are required for the application are published on the Faculty's website, specifically on https://www.faf.cuni.cz/Admission/Postgraduate/, including the specification for which the graduates of the Master's degree (pharmaceutical, medical, science, pedagogical (focusing on chemistry or biology), chemically or biologically oriented faculties) is the most appropriate field.

    After filling in the application form in the electronic form, each candidate will be generated by the information system the identification number of the application (ID of the application), which is necessary to indicate when paying the administrative fee for the procedures connected with the admission procedure.

    The application must be submitted and the fee must be paid by April 30, 2024 at the latest, in the additional admission procedure by September 3, 2024 at the latest, in the admission procedure to the doctoral study II by November 30, 2024 at the latest.The fee is non-refundable at any stage of the admission procedure.

    Pursuant to the provisions of Article 4 (5) of the Rules of Admission Procedure for Applicants of Charles University, the Faculty shall send an invitation to the admission examination through the University electronic information system not later than 30 days before the date of the event. If the Faculty sends an invitation to a substitute admission exam, this period can be shortened accordingly. The applicant will receive the password for entering the electronic system after the application for study has been submitted.

    All doctoral study programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy are carried out without specialization.

    Application form requisites:

    In the application for doctoral studies, the applicants will fill out the personal and contact details of the university (the faculty, the subject, the topic of the diploma thesis and the date of the final state examination). In the application form, they shall also state the form of study, discipline and the topic of the doctoral degree.

    The applicants also state a foreign language in which they would take an examination during doctoral studies. Alternatively, they may present a list of publications, proof of foreign or domestic scientific practice, participation in a national or international competition etc.

    The application must be enclosed with:


      
    • Notarized copy of the certificate of completed university education (the graduates of FaF UK can only attach certificates of successful completion of studies)
       • Copy of a certificate or a Diploma Supplement (if the applicant has already completed his studies)
       • Curriculum vitae
       • Doctoral project - the candidate will choose the topic of doctoral study either from the topics listed or will suggest a topic of his/her own. The project will contain a topic and a short idea of the applicant for the solution of the given topic. Candidate will receive bonuses if he/she submit a PhD project with supposed training site and with the agreement of the supervisor with the management of a planned doctoral project.

    The proof of payment of the administrative fee for the procedures connected with the admission procedure must be documented by the tenderer upon request.

    The Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University in Hradec Králové (FAF) was established in the year 1969 on the basis of Government Decree No. 100/69 Coll. It has been linked to the old and the long-time the tradition of pharmacy studies at Charles University, dating back to the very beginnings of the university, until 1348.

    FAF study programs are designed to match the current state and the level of pharmaceutical and bioanalytical sciences and the needs of our and Europian practice.
