The entrance exam is a single-round interview and consists of several parts. The interview focuses on professional knowledge, previous scientific and research activities and motivation to study the chosen doctoral programme.
The candidate prepares a short resume of his/her studies and professional activities in advance and presents it orally during the interview (approximately 5 minutes). In addition, he/she will submit a list and copies of published works, evidence of academic awards and any other documents that could supplement the information for the entrance examination. The Committee reserves the right to conduct the entrance examination in written form, e.g. as a test to verify the applicant's knowledge of inorganic chemistry in the scope of the Master's degree. The committee will make its decision on the basis of a comprehensive assessment of the applicant's professional and linguistic abilities, overall motivation and aptitude for independent scientific work.

The applicant must demonstrate scientific expertise and capability of independent scientific work.

The exam is marked with a maximum of 100 points. In order to be admitted to part-time (‚combined‘) study form, the applicant must obtain the minimum number of points required for passing the entrance examination, which is the same as the minimum number of points required for admission.
The minimum number of points required for passing the entrance examination for full-time as well as part-time study form is set to 50 points.
