      The entrance exam takes the form of a brief presentation of the project in English (max. 7 slides and 7 min.) followed by an oral interview in Czech or English, according to the applicant's choice. The participation of the intended supervisor - if appointed - is recommended. The student's eligibility for scientific work in the field and his/her ability to successfully complete the study are assessed.
      The evaluation is based on the following criteria:
      The quality and originality of the dissertation proposal, the clarity and clear formulation of the research question and hypotheses, the quality and specificity of the methodology and its consistency with the research question: 0-30 points.
      The feasibility of the submitted project is evaluated according to the following criteria:
      (a) Realistic plan for obtaining research data within the given timeframe (e.g. recruitment of patients, samples, etc.): 0-10 points,
      b) "Dedicated research time": the applicant's assumption and willingness to devote exclusive time to the project and whether they have a specific plan to do so: 0-15 points,
      c) Financial security of the project or the expectation of obtaining it: 0-5 points,
      3. Previous research activities: publications, conference presentations, participation in a student research conference, etc.: 0-5 points.
      4. Cooperative dimension of the project: Potential for scientific cooperation between disciplines and research institutions (national and international).
      a) Cooperation of several institutions in the project: 0-5 points,
      b) Plan for a study abroad placement: 0-10 points,
      c) Active knowledge of English by the candidate: 0-10 points.

      A score of more than 50 points is required to pass the entrance examination. Admission is decided by the Dean in accordance with Article 5 of Dean's Measure No. 6/2025.

      In order to be admitted to full-time study, a candidate must obtain the minimum number of points required for successful completion of the entrance examination and the minimum number of points required for admission.

      The graduate of the Experimental Intensive Care Medicine programme will be familiar with the principles of the methodology of scientific work in the field of intensive care medicine and multi-organ support. A basic knowledge and general view or research methoidologies is required in the whole field, from basic to translational research, whilst in-depth insight is mandatory in the field of students own thesis topic. The graduate of the study programme can critically evaluate information, has acquired the technical and non-technical skills necessary for team management and sees the prospect of further development in their area of specialization. In addition to an academic career, they is also equipped for leadership and coordination roles in their field.
