The study programme Didactics of Geography comprises a wide range of issues related to monitoring, innovations and evaluation of geographical education and education of individuals and society. The acquired professional skills include didactics of geography, but also some other fields of study (especially geography, pedagogy, psychology, IT and sociology), that are necessary to solve multidisciplinary problems. The level of these professional skills is comparable to the level of similar doctoral programmes abroad.
The graduate is prepared to do scientific work in team and individually, to teach and to manage activities in the field of geographical education. The latter means that the graduate is able to contribute to solution of issues in geography education such are planning, realisation and evaluation of geographical education in relation to a broader context of education and its goals.

Přijímací zkouška je jednokolová formou pohovoru, který se bude týkat především problematiky plánované disertační práce a znalostí uchazeče v rámci odbornosti daného studijního programu. Uchazeč/uchazečka předem připraví v písemné podobě a připojí k přihlášce ke studiu (v rozsahu max. 5 tis. znaků), a pak v rámci přijímací zkoušky ústně prezentuje (v délce max. 10 minut): (a) shrnutí své dosavadní odborné činnosti a (b) stručný návrh svého doktorského projektu. Komise bude komplexně hodnotit motivaci uchazeče/uchazečky, jeho/její jazykové schopnosti, dosavadní výsledky odborné činnosti, kvalitu a realizovatelnost doktorského projektu.

Při přijímací zkoušce musí uchazeč prokázat odborné znalosti a předpoklady k samostatné vědecké práci.

Zkouška je hodnocena maximálně 100 body. Součástí hodnocení je kvalita disertačního projektu, jeho realizovatelnost i s ohledem na formu studia a způsob jeho prezentace. Dále je v průběhu zkoušky zjišťována schopnost komunikace v anglickém jazyce, do českých studijních programů též v jazyce českém.

Pro přijetí ke studiu do kombinované formy musí uchazeč získat minimální počet bodů pro úspěšné složení přijímací zkoušky, který se rovná minimálnímu počtu bodů nutného pro přijetí.
Minimální počet bodů pro úspěšné složení přijímací zkoušky do prezenční i kombinované formy je stanoven na 50 bodů.

Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.
