The aim of the study is the dynamics, relationships and functional characterization of basic structural components of eukaryotic cells under normal - physiological conditions and in pathological processes, as well as in their modeling. Furthermore, the general expressions of functional cells such as cell cycle, movement etc., including its regulatory mechanisms. Methodical landmark is vytochemie, in situ hybridisation, electron microscopy, image analysis, biological experiment in vivo and in vitro. This program overlaps with a number of other fields, particularly in molecular biology, biochemistry and physiology.

Every applicant must complete the admissions process. The personal presence of the prospective supervisor is essential. The admission examination takes place before the committee in the form of an oral interview and verifies the student's suitability for scientific work in the field. The committee evaluates:
      1. the quality of the dissertation project and the quality of the workmanship - Maximum points for the whole item - 5 points
      2. Relation of the topic to the focus of the intended supervisor and his/her research projects - Maximum points for the entire item - 5 points
      3. How the applicant presents the project - Maximum points for the whole item - 5 points
      4. Basic theoretical knowledge of the candidate in relation to the topic of the dissertation and general overview of cell biology - response to the questions of the committee members - Maximum points for the whole item - 5 points
Each member of the committee scores paragraphs 1-4 separately in the range of 0-5 points. An arithmetic average is calculated from the scores of each committee member. Rounding will be to whole numbers - for values 0.0-0.49 down to the nearest whole number. For values of 0,50-0,99, upwards to the nearest whole number. The ranking of the candidates is determined by the final score.
A score of at least 4 points is required to pass the entrance examination. In order to be admitted to full-time study, applicants must obtain the minimum number of points required to pass the entrance examination and at the same time obtain the minimum number of points required for admission.

Graduate in the PhD program acquired good knowledge of cell biology and of biological background of basic cell pathology processes. He/she has deep understanding of the Thesis subject and is familiar with basic methodical procedures in cell biology. The graduate acquired independent scientific mode of thinking, is able to collect and critically evaluate the existing status of knowledge and suggest solutions including experimental designs. The graduate should manage all selected methods for scientific studies oriented to his dissertation. He/she should interpret the achieved results and present as well as discuss them at scientific meetings. The graduate is able to teach both pre- and postgraduate courses in cell biology and pathology.
