The main entrance exam will take place in Prague on May 30, 2025, also in several dates abroad and/or on-line
The entrance examinations have 2 parts:
1. part - writen multiple - choice tests in Biology and Chemistry.
There is 60 questions, 30 questions in each subject. There is only one correct answer out of four.
Minimal and maximal possible number of points is: minimum 0 - maximum 60
The dean will set the minimal number of points to proceed to the second part of the examination based on the results of the first part of the entrance exams.
2. part - an interview, which envolves: interpretation of a popular - scientific text, general overview, the ability of the independent judgment, communication skills.
The actual interview for the oral part of the entrance exam lasts a total of 10 minutes (regardless of the number of questions asked
Applicants are evaluated according to the following criteria:
In the Text circle:
Amount of information (1-5 points)
Concise, logical presentation of ideas (1-5 points)
Synthesis of ideas, integration into the general context (1-5 points)
Discussion ability (1-5 points)
Culture of speech (1-5 points)
In the Interview circuit:
Confidence, directness, openness (1-5 points)
Interpersonal sensitivity (1-5 points)
Task orientation (1-5 points)
Tolerance for vaguely structured phenomena (1-5 points)
Way of thinking (1-5 points)
Interest - motivation to study (1-5 points)
Another item is the Recommendation (1-7 points), (that is, an individual recommendation for the acceptance of the applicant formulated by each evaluator of the oral part based on the overall impression, including the response to the question about the applicant's motivation to study)
Minimal and maximal possible number of points is: minimum 12 - maximum 62
The number of point required for admission is determined by the Dean of the Faculty according to the expected number of admissions.
The range of required knowledge of the listed subjects corresponds to the framework educational program for grammar schools in the Czech Republic.
Study programme is implemented without specialization (according to article 3, paragraph 1 of Code of Admission procedure for Charles University Applicants.)
