The Art Education didactics Ph.D. study program supports areas of fine arts and its theory connected with the social science of education and didactics in a comprehensive realm of inquiry-based and international scientific approach. The Ph.D. program should strengthen the knowledge of art education and art reflection in the specialization of Art education and Creative arts majors thus being focused on the Art class didactics. The research area of the program then the main focus is to implement the model of reflective art which is targeted towards creative and inquiry-based art production which consequently leads towards the creation of methodologies and frameworks for didactic and pedagogical transformations in the fine and creative arts.

Along with the application, the applicant submits a research project proposal (written study) that presents a clearly formulated research plan and structure of the research project, is formally correct in terms of the rules of the academic writing genre (citation and bibliographic standards), and may include visual elements (illustrations) related to the content. A basic knowledge of the literature in the field is also a prerequisite. During the entrance examination, the candidate presents the study and conducts a professional debate with the admissions committee, during which his/her professional preparedness and knowledge of the general theoretical foundations of the field, the feasibility of the doctoral project, its potentialities and its compatibility with the research programme of the department are verified. Part of the interview may be conducted in English, while basic fluency and the use of a professional vocabulary are checked. Previous publication or exhibition activity is bonused (maximum 3 points).
Admission is conditional on the proper completion of studies in a master's degree programme of a similar focus.
Criteria for evaluation: in order to be admitted to full-time study, a candidate must obtain the minimum number of points required to pass the entrance examination and at the same time obtain the minimum number of points required for admission. The minimum number of points for admission to individual study programmes is determined by the Dean on the basis of the results of the entrance examination, taking into account the expected number of applicants to be admitted and the economic and capacity possibilities of the faculty. The minimum number of points for successful completion of the entrance examination for full-time and combined forms is set at 7 out of 10 points.
Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.
