Cílem doktorského studia experimentální a klinické onkologie je komplexní ucelené vzdělání ve všech oblastech, od obecných a experimentálních, přes preklinické až po klinické oblasti onkologie.
Druhým, neméně důležitým cílem doktorského studia je osvojení si základních principů vědecké práce: studium literatury, příprava vědeckého projektu, formulace hypotéz, základní a pokročilé statistické metody (včetně a priori kalkulace potřebné velikosti souboru), vlastní realizace výzkumného projektu, sběr, analýza a kritická interpretace dat, formulace závěrů, příprava rukopisu a jeho úspěšné uveřejnění v recenzovaném časopise s impaktovým faktorem. Důležitou součástí této oblasti je také schopnost připravit odborné sdělení (přednáška, poster), jeho prezentace a obhajoba v diskusi na odborných kongresech, sympoziích a konferencích (tuzemských i zahraničních).
Třetí oblastí je schopnost doktoranda samostatně připravit grantovou aplikaci, včetně všech souvisejících náležitostí (mezinárodní registrace klinického projektu – Clinical.Trial.gov, povolení práce s geneticky modifikovanými organismy, práce s radioizotopy, etická komise, SÚKL aj.) a zajistit tak finanční krytí výzkumu.

The entrance examination takes place in front of the committee in the form of an oral interview and checks the applicant's suitability for scientific work in the field and the quality of the project with which the applicant applies for doctoral studies.
For SP in English: The entrance exam is conducted in English.

Evaluation criteria:
The applicant will submit a written version of the annotation (3 - 5 pages of A4 in standard formatting) and a brief professional CV.
In a presentation (PowerPoint; max. 10 min.), the applicant presents the intended project. The annotation must contain the title, a brief theoretical introduction, concise goals and clearly formulated hypotheses, methodology (including capacity balance, ideally after consultation with statistics), implementation outputs, time schedule and financial security. The written consent of the academic staff is necessary that he is willing to take on the role of future supervisor if the student is accepted for doctoral studies. The personal presence of the trainer is optimal. The intended project is followed by a discussion with any additional questions.
Each member of the examination committee evaluates separately 0 - 50 points.

The second part of the entrance exam will verify the basic theoretical knowledge of the given field / topic, the student's orientation in working with literature, ethical aspects of research and the basics of medical / biomedical statistics.
Each member of the examination committee evaluates separately 0 - 30 points.

A bonus is a language test
For SP in English: from Czech level B1 and higher. The language test is not a condition for admission to doctoral studies. Each member of the examination committee evaluates separately 0 or 10 points (if the applicant submits a certificate = 10b, if not submitted = 0 points).

The bonus represents first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals with an impact factor higher than 0.5. Publication is not a condition for admission to doctoral studies.

Conclusion
The meeting of the examination committee to evaluate the applicant is closed to the public.

The minimum number of points for successfully passing the entrance exam is 50 points.

Each member of the commission performs a point evaluation separately for individual criteria. The evaluation result is the average point evaluation of individual members of the examination committee. Minutes are made of the commission's meeting.


To be admitted to full-time studies, the applicant must obtain the minimum number of points for successfully passing the entrance exam and at the same time obtain the minimum number of points required for admission. The minimum number of points for successfully passing the entrance exam is determined in advance for each study program separately. The minimum number of points for admission is determined by the dean on the basis of the results of the entrance exams, taking into account the expected number of admitted applicants and the economic and capacity possibilities of the faculty.

Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.

Absolvent doktorského studijního programu Experimentální a klinická onkologie je erudovaným vědeckým pracovníkem, který má rozsáhlé, ucelené, komplexní znalosti současné moderní onkologie, od obecných a experimentálních, přes preklinické až po klinické oblasti onkologie.
Osvojil si základní principy vědecké práce. Výsledky své práce je schopen uplatnit počitatelnými scientometrickými výstupy (publikace v odborných časopisech s impaktovým faktorem; prezentace na mezinárodních fórech).
Absolvent DSP je schopen samostatně připravit grantovou aplikaci a zajistit tak finanční krytí výzkumu.
Doktorand je schopen zapojit se do mezinárodní vědecko-výzkumné spolupráce.
Úspěšné dokončení postgraduálního studia je východiskem pro další akademickou dráhu absolventa.
