During the admission process, candidates must fulfil two conditions: they must obtain the required percentile, based on Scio’s General Academic Prerequisites (GAP) test (
https://www.scioexams.com/) – which is designed to test their linguistic and logical skills and abilities – and they must provide proof of their previous education.
1) The first condition of the admission process is the demonstration of general academic aptitudes in the GAP test organised between November 2024 and April 2025; the test can only be taken online. Candidates must register for the GAP test by themselves, directly via Scio’s website.
The Faculty of Humanities will provide one free voucher for the GAP test, to be held on April 26th (Saturday), 2025, to all applicants who have duly submitted the application form and paid the application fee. Such candidates will be sent detailed instructions on the procedure on how to collect the voucher for the April 26th test to the e-mail address provided in the application form. This voucher is non-transferable and can be used only once on the specified date. Participation in the GAP test on dates other than April 26th must be paid by the applicants themselves, as the faculty does not reimburse costs for the GAP test on dates different from the one specified.
As a part of the GAP test, each applicant must give Scio consent to transfer the results to the Faculty of Humanities.
The GAP examination dates are:
• September 14th, 2024;
• January 13rd, 2025;
• March 1st, 2025;
• March 29th, 2025;
• April 26th, 2025 (term paid by the faculty).
More information regarding the GAP test is available at
https://www.scioexams.com/general-academic-prerequisites, for more information regarding Scio see

The Dean determines the percentile threshold for admission, taking into account the number of candidates participating in the admission process and the operational capacities of the Faculty of Humanities.
2) The second condition of the admission process is the submission of proof of previous education, i.e. a copy of the applicant’s high (secondary) school diploma and transcript of records. The deadline for providing the abovementioned proof is set to September 30th, 2025. Applicants who have completed their previous secondary education outside the Czech Republic must submit one of the following documents to prove their previous education: a document proving that a foreign document concerning the obtainment of secondary education is generally recognized as equivalent or valid in the Czech Republic (nostrification); or a foreign document concerning foreign secondary education completed with a “maturita” examination if it is deemed automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic by its international agreements without any further administrative procedures (a “maturita” school leaving certificate from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, or Slovenia); or a foreign document concerning foreign secondary education to be assessed by the Faculty (for a fee of 960 CZK). Applicants who will not get their foreign diploma recognised by September 30th, 2025, may complete the recognition process by October 22nd, 2025. Detailed information regarding the method of proving the previous education can be found on the Faculty’s website:
