Doctoral study programme "Experimental and Clinical Oncology" provides full education with a complex expert knowledge of contemporary oncology, from basic and experimental ones, through preclinical specialities to clinical oncology. Students acquire and master basic principles of science and research work. They are able to employ results of scientific work (including papers in journals with a recognised impact factor and presentations at international conferences and congresses). Graduates are able to apply independently for a grant project (thus secure financial funding of further research). They are also able to take part in an international scientific cooperation. Lest but not least, successful completion of doctoral studies is an important starting point for further academic career.

The entrance examination takes place before the committee in the form of an oral interview and verifies the applicant's eligibility for scientific work in the field and the quality of the project with which the applicant is applying for doctoral studies.
For SP in English: the entrance examination is in English.

Proposed assessment criteria for the entrance exams:
The applicant must submit a written version of the annotation (3-5 A4 pages in standard formatting) and a brief professional CV.
In a presentation (PowerPoint; max. 10 min.), the applicant will present the intended project. The annotation must include a title, a brief theoretical introduction, precise objectives and clearly formulated hypotheses, methodology (including a capacity analysis, ideally in consultation with a statistician), deliverables, timetable and financial support. A written agreement from the academic that he/she is willing to take on the role of future supervisor if the student is accepted for doctoral study is essential. The personal presence of the supervisor is optimal. A discussion of the proposed project will follow with any additional questions.
Each member of the examining committee scores the project separately from 0 to 50 points.

The second part of the entrance examination verifies the basic theoretical knowledge of the given field/topic, the student's orientation in working with literature, ethical aspects of research and the basics of medical/biomedical statistics.
Each member of the examination committee scores 0 - 30 points separately.

      Bonification is a language exam
For SP in English: from Czech B1 level and higher.
The language exam is not a prerequisite for admission to doctoral studies.
Each member of the examination committee scores 0-10 points independently.

Bonification represents first-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals with an impact factor higher than 0.5. Publication is not a condition for admission to doctoral studies.
Each member of the examination committee scores 0-10 points independently.

The examination board meeting to evaluate the candidate is closed to the public. The minimum threshold for admission is 50 points.
Each member of the board will score the candidates separately for each criterion. The result of the evaluation is the average of the scores of the individual members of the examination board. A transcript of the Commission's proceedings shall be taken.
