Imaging science is paying attention to the diagnostic and therapeutic application of the imaging methods of radiology and also nuclear medicine. It is cooperating with other basic medicine disciplines very closely. The graduate of the doctoral study program imaging science in medicine acquires the scientific erudition based on the combination of theoretical study, clinical practice and scientific work in the concrete scientific-research assignment. Theoretical part of the study includes the whole range of the discipline (the graduate reaches detailed knowledge of the problems related to the dissertation work and knowledge of the other parts of radiology on the level of the specialization examination at a minimum). Theoretical education is completed with the mandatory and voluntary specialized curses and research fellowships. Clinical part is done at the imaging department according to the topic of the dissertation work. Scientific-research part is based on the solving of the concrete assignment and on the publication of the research results. During the completing of the research assignment, the graduate is taught to work on a scientific project, to create theses, to study literature, to verify hypothesis on the selected sample, to interpret results and to publish them in scientific journals and during congresses. The study is terminated by the state examination and the defense of the dissertation work. The successful graduate obtains the scientific degree of Ph.D.
