      Entrance exam
The entrance exam will take place on specified dates at the Second Faculty of Medicine of Charles University or at selected locations abroad.
Applicants are accepted on the basis of their results in the admission procedure, which is performed entirely in English. The entrance exam takes place during the determined date at the Second Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague or from January 2024 to July 2024 at cooperating agencies abroad. Information about cooperating agencies is available on the faculty website.
      https://www.lf2.cuni.cz/en/applicants/how-to-apply

The entrance exam consists of two parts:
      • The first part of the entrance exam
Applicants take a written multiple-choice test corresponding to standard secondary school curricula. The entrance exam topics and examples of the questions are available at our website. The written test comprises 75 questions (20 questions from biology, 20 questions from chemistry, 20 questions from physics and 15 questions from logic). Applicants have 90 minutes to complete the entire test. For each correctly answered question, the applicant gets 3 points. No points are awarded if there is a discrepancy between the final selection and the correct answer. The total number of points that can be obtained for the written test is 225. The completed tests are evaluated anonymously.
The dean will determine the point threshold for advancing to the second part based on the results of the first part of the entrance exam.

      • The second part of the entrance exam
Applicants with the best written test results according to the dean’s decision are subsequently invited for the interview. The oral interview takes place in front of a three-member committee of faculty staff. Applicants are expected to demonstrate their interest in the field of study, their ability to discuss medicine-related general topics, and they should be able to defend their opinions. The applicant randomly draws two discussion topics. For each of them he/she can get 1 to 10 points from each committee member, so in total 6 to 60 points can be obtained for the oral part.

The dean may allow the substitute exam to the candidate who
requests it in writing within three days from the date of the exam in due time, in case
the candidate was unable to attend the exam in due time due to serious and documented
reasons, in particular medical reasons. Studying abroad, which is preparation for studying at a
university, is the reason for allowing the substitute date. No further substitute date is allowed.

The point limit for admission is set by the dean based on the results of the entrance exam.

Proof of secondary school education with matriculation exam and the sum of points from the written and oral parts of the admission procedure is the determining factor for the final result of the admission procedure, which will be published in the Study Information System.
