      The Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen offers courses in General Medicine (six years) and Dentistry (five years) in both Czech and in English languages.
      For medical students, the first two years of study are devoted to theoretical disciplines, such as Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Biophysics, Biochemistry and Physiology. During the third and fourth years of study, students focus on preclinical subjects such as Pathological Anatomy, Pathological Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology and Pharmacology. Bed-side teaching is also introduced in the third year. The last two years of study are fully devoted to clinical subjects. For students of Dentistry, the first two years of study are devoted to theoretical disciplines and pre-clinical Dentistry, the third, fourth and fifth years are devoted to clinical stomatology.

      The academic years for theoretical disciplines and pre-clinical subjects are organized into winter and summer semesters. Each semester consists of a teaching period followed by an examination period. The clinical courses are organized in a block system.

      The field of study General Medicine and Dentistry have no specialization.

      The entrance examination for the study programme in English is organized as follows:

      1.At the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, alej Svobody 1655/76, 301 66, Pilsen, The Czech Republic

      2.Organized by the cooperating agencies abroad - Portugal, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Germany.

      Registered candidates will be informed in advance via email about the exact date, place, time and format of the entrance examination.The entrance examination consists of a test in Chemistry, Biology and Physics - written test in present form (on-line interview only if approved by the dean of the faculty). The requirements are similar to the British “A” level examination requirements. In total, there will be 75 questions, with each subject having an allocation of 25 questions. There is always only one correct answer and is assigned with 1 point. There are no penalties in case of mistakes. The condition is passing the entrance exam in Chemistry, Biology and Physics and gaining a particular number of points to be admitted. The number of points required for admission will be determined by the dean of the faculty depending on the anticipated number of admitted students.

      The tests are administered and marked by a university/faculty professors.

      Beside a successful passing of the entrance examination test, submitting of a completely legalized High school diploma/certificate in accordance with the information on our website http://www.lfp.cuni.cz/clanek/252-when-passed-the-entrance-examination-test-successfully.html is strictly required, as an essential and legal condition for admission.
      Documents must be send in a hard copy form by post to the following address of the Faculty or submitted personally to:

      no later than on 31st August 2023 together with a proof of payment confirming that the assessment fee - if required- has been paid.

      Candidates, who fail the entrance examination may not retake the exam during that same academic year.

      Admission to Master's studies is conditioned by completed secondary education confirmed by a school-leaving certificate. Admission to Post-Bachelor studies (Master's programme) is likewise conditioned by completed education in any type of study programme.

      There is not any preparatory course for entrance exams organized for English students by our Faculty.

      After completing their studies, graduates are awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree - MUDr. (Medicinae Universae Doctor) or MDDr.(Medicinae Dentalis Doctor) for the students of Dentistry, at a traditional ceremony held in the Carolinum, a historical University Hall in Prague. This degree is widely recognized in most countries.
